DAYSPRING'S ANNUAL SING A HUGE SUCCESS!

As people came through the doors of River Valley Community Church of the Nazarene, anticipation and excitement filled their hearts as they attended DaySpring's Fifth Annual Sing.

DaySpring started out the night with songs from their newest project followed by the close harmony of Pictures of Grace. From the time that The Clark Family took the stage, the people knew they were in for a real treat. Their style of bluegrass gospel mixed with a little bit of down home southern gospel music caught the audience's attention right from the beginning. Then Greg Bentley, formerly of The Hoppers and most recently, The Squire Parson's Trio, took the stage and began singing hymns from his newest hymns collection CD. He won the crowd over immediately and continued to sing songs from his hymns CD and his Journey of Joy CD.

In the second round, Pictures of Grace wowed the audience once more with their beautiful selection of songs. The Clark Family finished their second round with a standing ovation with their mix of musical talent and great songwriting.  Greg finished his part of the program with a medley of songs on his newest CD "Shout to the Lord and How Great Thou Art". Another standing ovation for Greg as he scurried off the stage. DaySpring closed the annual sing with two more selections from the new project and also received a standing ovation.

We want to thank all of those who supported our Fifth Annual Sing and for the love offering they gave in support of all the ministries. What a great night for gospel music in Vienna, WV. We also want to thank all of the groups and our special guest, Greg Bentley, for contributing their time and talents for the Lord.

A special thanks to our sound man for the evening, Jeff Edman. He did a great job at keeping the sound at a pleasurable level for everyone and made us all sound great!

We look forward to next year's annual sing and hope that YOU will be a part of it.

God Bless,
DaySpring

DAYSPRING'S NEW RECORDING PROJECT COMPLETE!

DaySpring has released their newest project called, "Just Another Mile". The new project includes a great song written by Dottie Rambo called, "Sheltered in the Arms of God".  As many of you know, Dottie recently lost her life in a tragic accident while traveling to a Mother's Day event to sing. This song was to be among one of her next recordings had God not seen fit to take her home.  The song will be a blessing to all of you.

Also included, will be some new songs from other great writers including Rebecca Peck, Jeffery Phillips, John Mathias, Jr., Carroll McGruder, Stephen Yates, Bill and Gloria Gaither, John Robinson, Pam Tucker and Christina DeGazio.  They are all heart stirring songs that you are sure to enjoy.  God is blessing DaySpring and we hope that you will continue to keep us in your prayers as we travel and sing for the glory of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Check out our "Discography" page for more information.

DAYSPRING SINGS AT OVCMA SPRINGFEST

DaySpring wants to thank Kevin Lauer and the staff of the Ohio Valley Christian Music Association for having DaySpring at Muskingum Park in Marietta, Ohio for their second annual praisefest.  The sing included many groups and soloists from the area and if you are interested in becoming involved with this newly organized association, please go to the link provided on our web page. Not only can the organization use new artists, but they can also use prayer warriors to keep them going.  Drop Kevin an email and let him know how much you appreciate what they are doing for gospel music in our area.

NEW PRAYER REQUEST! URGENT!!

For those of you who attended last year's Annual DaySpring Sing, we want you to know that Steve Bayer, the piano player for the Parkersburg gospel singing group, Redeemed, went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2008.  Please keep his family and the group members in your prayers. Redeemed will continue on singing for the Lord but will always remember their friend and fellow group member.  He will be missed by all of us.

Professional singer/songwriter, Dottie Rambo, was fatally injured in a bus crash enroute to a Mother's Day singing event.  Other members of her entourage were also injured as well.  Please remember Dottie's family and friends and the others who were injured as well. You can find out more about this tragic accident online.

UPDATE:  Mike and John's uncle, Kenny Douglas, has been diagnosed with a rare and deadly form of leukemia. Doctors have prescribed a medicine that they believe will prolong his life.  Pray that the medicine will work and that he will have success with his treatments. Thanks for your prayers!

"Through the tender mercy of God: whereby our dayspring from on high hath visited us, to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."
